We have had a lovely time , amazing accommodation, friendly welcome, fantastic views (dodgy weather – but the barn served us well!) We’ve loved seeing the animals and feeling relaxed and refreshed. Tea and cake provided by Anne greatly appreciated. Brook House has been home from “home to us this week. We have been most comfortable and found everything splendid, so well equipped and attractive too. A bonus has been the wonderful scenery in The Forest of Bowland area. Appreciated the quietness, darkness, and beauty of the landscape, the comfort and spaciousness and light of the accommodation and the wonderful cake we were greeted with. What a brilliant week! Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting and perfect hosts! Family, H. Cheshire August 09 The cottage was the perfect place for us to roam the region - Liverpool,a tour of John and Pauls houses to Morecambe Bay. We also visited Parlick and surrounding fells and had some wonderful meals at the Whitewell Inn and the Three Fishes. Were most impressed by the standard of local foods we bought in Farm shops - we ate a bit too much!!Finally the cottage had all we needed; it was very comfortable and we loved the solitude. As a keen fly fisherman the lake provided a real challenge - lots of weed! No problem - Robert produced a boat, oars, rope and much fun was had clearing a patch big enough to stalk fish. Success! The Cooper and Wells families, Hampshire.June 09 Beautiful, comfortable cottage.Probably the best we've stayed in. 7 days not really long enough in this area. Nice local scenic villages - Downham and Bolton-by-Bowland. Good places for birds - Leighton Moss RSPB, Marshside RSPB, Martin Mere and Stocks Resevoir. Good local meal at Dog and Partridge near Chipping - about 5 miles. Weather was very showery, but not too bad. Look out for hares passing by the back door in the morning. Gill and Gareth L. The location is quiet but near to good amenities.
